Why ACWL-Nuveen?

End-of-year giving season is upon us! 'Tis the season for non-profits like ACWL-Nuveen to make their case for contributions. We know you have a choice where to put your money and we appreciate your consideration. Our earned income, fundraisers, and grants cover approximately 67% of our needs and we rely on individual and corporate contributions, and memberships to fill in the rest.

Here's what your contribution makes possible in the community...

The Art Walk

🦋The butterfly got its wings repaired. ⛵The sailboats were scrubbed down. 🦆The foliage around the waterfowl was trimmed back.

These are just a few of the recent ways ACWL-Nuveen has helped maintain the 19 public art sculptures along the Art Walk. But there's much more work to be done. When you support ACWL-Nuveen, your contribution helps make possible this beautiful public art that's enjoyed by locals and draws visitors to the White Lake area.

Classes & Education

81 - That's how many classes, workshops, and lectures have been offered at ACWL-Nuveen over the past year. Hobbit houses, watercolor botanicals, charcoal portraits, and handbound journals are just a few of the subjects taught. And here are some of the nice things people had to say about their experiences:

🌟"The instructor was very patient, laid-back and had a good sense of humor. Just what this non-artistic person needed!"

🌟"The kids loved having all the supplies available to create whatever their imagination could come up with. They had a lot of fun."

🌟"I love the encouragement to try new things and the gentle push to go beyond what is comfortable. Plus it is a really relaxing, stress-free atmosphere."

🌟"[The instructor] was so thorough in her tips and advice and provided better instruction than when I was doing my BFA 20+years ago...I can’t believe the amount of tools and supplies, which was wonderful. All positive and not pretentious. So glad I took this class!"

When you support ACWL-Nuveen, you're supporting the Scholarship Fund, the Emerging Artist of Color Residency, free guest lectures, Open Studio, and reduced pricing for kids summer camps. All of which help make arts education more accessible to everyone in the White Lake community.

The Exhibition Gallery

🗣️🗣️🗣️You can learn a lot about someone by discussing art with them. Thanks to the gallery at ACWL-Nuveen, exhibits are available year-round to experience and discuss with others. There are even opportunities to talk with the artists themselves at the free receptions offered for every exhibit. When you make a contribution to ACWL-Nuveen, you're making possible a continual influx of new artwork into the White Lake community, as well as all the wonderful discussion that the artwork generates.

The Retail Gallery

4️⃣2️⃣ Who do you know on the list of names in the below image? Chances are you know at least one person and maybe more. They could be a friend, a neighbor, a teacher, a co-worker, or a classmate. Whoever it is, they make incredible, one-of-a-kind work that ACWL-Nuveen is fortunate to have displayed in its retail gallery. When you make a contribution to ACWL-Nuveen, you help provide a space for these incredibly talented artists to sell their singular work at a brick-and-mortar store.

Music & Concerts

🎶🎺🎸 Music is at the heart of ACWL-Nuveen. The Trombone Retreat, Music Together classes, the Color of Music exhibit, and--of course--the free Summer Concert Series. All these events delight the community and inspire the audience. When you make a year-end contribution to ACWL-Nuveen, you make possible these events which offer an opportunity to connect with you friends, family, and neighbors through the shared joy of music.

How to Give

Our end-of-year donations drive will officially launch on Giving Tuesday, November 28 and run through the end of the year, but we're grateful for your support at any time. If you'd like to donate now, you can at www.artswhitelake.org/donate. ACWL-Nuveen wouldn't be here without you and we thank you for considering us as a recipient of your end-of-year giving!
