Call for Artists: 3rd Annual Emerging Artist of Color Residency

Thanks to support from the Consumers Energy Foundation and an anonymous donor, the Arts Council of White Lake-Nuveen Center (ACWL-Nuveen) is excited to announce a Call for Artists for our third annual Emerging Artist of Color Residency.

Muskegon County artists who identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color, ages 17-21, are invited to apply for this annual residency. This three-week program will provide one local artist working with 2-dimensional and/or mixed-media a studio space, materials and up to 72 hours of dedicated time to pursue a visual art project of their choice. The chosen artist will receive a $1,000 stipend and special mentoring from accomplished painter and educator Tatsuki Hakoyama. Mr. Hakoyama will meet individually with the artist and help guide them toward creating a body of work that will be exhibited at the ACWL-Nuveen within six months of the completion of the residency.
