“Creating something handmade makes me very happy”, states ACWL-Nuveen Artist Member Tina Ramthun. “Getting out of my head and into my hands feels really wonderful.”
Tina, a life-long White Lake area resident and retired City of Montague employee, expresses her creative side through beautiful yarns and gemstones. Visitors and customers of the ACWL-Nuveen retail gallery are impressed with Tina’s attention to detail in both her knit wear, socks, mittens, hats, shawls, plus stellar custom jewelry. Tina attributes her love of learning and how to create from scratch from watching her mother. Tina states, “my mother was a teacher, she worked out how to make most things out of necessity all of her life then passed her knowledge down to me and my sisters when she had the time.”
Now that Tina is retired, she can pursue her creative dreams seven days a week for her Wool & Wire business rather than just on the weekends. She states enthusiastically, “I can create something as soon as the idea comes to me if I want to, that freedom to me is priceless! Challenging myself by creating something new that I never thought I could is what I love.”
