About the event

This course will help you understand how to effectively use shading to create an illusion of form in your drawings. The instructor will guide students through the shading process, from identifying value structure to developing values using graphite and charcoal. Whether you are new to drawing or want to review the process to improve your skill, this class is for you!

About the Instructor:

Tatsuki Hakoyama is a Japanese artist who works with a broad range of content and mediums, including painting, drawing, and papermaking. He received his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University, and his Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Kendall College of Art & Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Aside from exhibiting his work in various solo and group exhibitions, he is an Assistant Professor of Studio Arts at KCAD. Hakoyama currently lives and works…
