7th Annual White Lake Chamber Music Festival

Fun, educational events for children will be presented by the Arts Council of White Lake as part of the seventh annual White Lake Chamber Music Festival on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.

This designated "Youth Day" on August 9 will feature three special events:

  • ·         At 11 am "Ice Cream & Chamber Music", a concert for children of all ages, will feature cellist and educator Erin Wang. An instrument petting zoo will follow the performance at the White Lake Community Library, 3900 White Lake Dr., Whitehall.
  • ·         At 4:30 pm the Serendipity Recital will feature past winners of our 2016 Young Artists Solo Competition which attracts college age musicians statewide and beyond.

Performing will be:

Anna Nordmoe – violin, Loy Norrix High School graduating senior

Morgan Mitteer – trumpet, Whitehall High School graduating senior

Ending the Youth Day at 5:30 pm will be a unique "Popsicles and Performers" Children's Recital featuring young musicians performing at what is usually a packed house of parents, grandparents, and community members at the Book Nook and Java Shop, 8744 Ferry St. in Montague. Popsicles will be given to all children performing or attending.

Performances by the legendary Avalon String Quartet will be among the many other highlights of this year’s White Lake Chamber Music Festival to be held August 4-14, 2016. Now in its seventh year, the Arts Council of White Lake’s festival will again comprise a wide variety of exceptional performances and events held throughout the White Lake area of Montague and Whitehall. Most events are free.
